And other things that caught my eye ~
Pictured below is the cover of a flyer that someone (I've yet to learn who) brought home and left on a table by the front door. Apparently Jesus visited a salon since the last time I saw him. The fringe on his dress looks more ornamental than worn - and, I don't know - do you think it look like he's had a pedicure?
I think he looked better with the long, flowing hair - but maybe that's my 70's showing (the decade, not my age!).
This photo (below) is a book cover from the nobody-wants-these-so-we're-selling-them section of the Doylestown library (which we visited yesterday - coz Manchild's home for a visit and we've been wandering around).
I love the title, it makes me laugh!
And finally, the little effin bunny (link goes to a past post where I talked about him - or her)
- he's back! I just saw him a few minutes ago - and grabbed the photo (above) from the earlier post (he looks the same - only, maybe fatter). Can you see him hiding under the arch of branches? Sweet!
What's catching YOUR eye today?
Karen,
I, too, love the title of that book. Makes me want to read it. Hope it found a good home on the for sale table. My yard will soon be home to about three bunnies. Every spring they appear, all completely identical yet I give them names anyway. Sometimes they let me get about ten feet from them. Most of the time they take off into the Hemlock Grove when I enter my backyard. It's neat to have all these animals hanging out with us!
Thx, G.

Is is just me and my foggy lenses, or is the Jesus in your picture also wearing glasses? How cool . . . particularly as I kind of doubt they had such things back then! Anyway, thanks for this Karen. It's so good to know short hair and glasses are in. - g

Nah, I think it's just his eyebrows that give an eyeglass look from back a bit. I think you're right though - probably no optician's in Jesus' day (or at least it was a REAL long walk to the mall, so nobody bothered).
Glad to "see" you, Gail - hope you're still writing and that your site & biz are flying to new heights!!

I definitely prefer the long-haired Jesus. That picture *does* make him looks like he's been to a salon and a spa. Even his beard has been professionally trimmed. An American Jesus for mainstream media, for sure.
I LOVE that book title. What a hoot!! It looks like the type of cover you see on a romance novel. I couldn't imagine the male hero being very appealing in such a book (not if *he's* the reason her give-a-damn broke - LOL!)
I saw bunnies in my yard this week too! They were capering around chasing one another, and I mean capering. Ohio rabbits are the only rabbits I've witnessed doing a complete 180-degree turn in mid-air as a way to elude the one chasing. And I've seen it more than once. Very acrobatic! And kind of spazzy, in a fun way.

Ha! Agree with you there, Milli - about the spazzy bunnies AND the guy on the book cover !
Speaking of books, I've picked up a number of funny used books at that library -- I'm planning on making a couple short videos sharing some of them.

So then you've heard Jo Dee Messina's sing, My Give A Damn's Busted, right?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqlpxHUZ2_4&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Dian, can you believe I never heard of her until you shared this link!?! LOVE her - she's so passionate and earthy - love the voice!
I am crossing my fingers (this never happens tho - but hope springs eternal - ya know?) that Slightly-British Daughter never heard of her either -- I'm the mama, I should be the one to point to music and say "This is one you oughta hear." But SBD is always 5 steps ahead of me with music (hmmm - did I turn this into a competition?? lol).
